The story follows Ichigo Kurosaki through his battles against mysterious monsters called "the Hollows" as well as his search for answers about who he really is. Meanwhile, a Quincy known as Sosuke Aizen is plotting to take over the Soul Society.Bleach has won in the following categories in major anime and manga awards throughout its run: In 2004, Viz Media licensed the "Bleach" manga from Tite Kubo for an English-language release in North America. The series ended in December 2006 with 33 volumes published. During its run, Viz Media released 6 volumes of the manga in North America before ceasing publication. All 6 volumes are out of print. There are four pieces of theme music for the anime versions, two opening themes and two ending themes. The first opening theme is by Kurousami up to episode 164 which is entitled "Believe Myself" and is used in the episodes 164-175, 176-191, 192-210, 211-221, 222-244, 245-252 and 253-271. The second opening theme is by Maximum The Hormone from episodes 272 to 313, which was used as the ending theme for episodes 216-235. The first ending theme is by Sachi Tainaka, up to episode 135 with the second one being by Yui Makino, from episodes 136 to 159 with episode 160, "Someday" by High and Mighty Color. Episode 161's ending song is "Everlasting Luv" which was also used as an insert song in episode 15. Episode 162's ending song is "Fukai Mori" by Abingdon Boys School which was also used as an insert song in episode 59. Episode 163 has no ending theme and instead uses the opening theme for the rest of the series. Finally, episode 164 has an ending song by Kiss as Eiji Kazama. A movie was released in 2006 and it serves as a prequel to the first anime series and three other movies: the "Bleach: Dark Horse" (2002), "Bleach: Hell Verse" (2003), and "Bleach: The DiamondDust Rebellion" (2004). It is set during the early days of the story, detailing events such as Ichigo Kurosaki's first meeting with Rukia Kuchiki, his first encounter with Byakuya Kuchiki, and his training sessions with Soi Fong.
